Echoflanger
Available soon.
Our recreation of the original vintage EHX Echoflanger, in a super small pedal board friendly package.
This multi all analog effect can produce up to 5 effects, slap back delay/double tracking, chorus, vibrato, flanger, and filter matrix.
WHAT IS IT?
Features of Echoflanger
- True Bypass
- 18v DC operation 2.1mm Boss style negative tip jack, does not use potentially noisy surge pump / voltage inverter IC's sometimes used in 18v pedal circuits.
- Uses 2 x vintage Panasonic BBD's.
- Attractively priced. Vintage units, if you can find one for sale, are being sold for thousands!
- Blend control instead of a switch. Allows user more control. When in Chorus mode, a Vibrato effect can be achieved by turning the Blend control fully counter clockwise.
- LED Mode indicator - LFO flashing for chorus/flanger, static for Slapback and Matrix settings
- New Input filter switch
- New internal threshold trimpot .The threshold control introduces a rudimentary gating control at low levels which can help prevent noise the circuit is prone to generate particularly during silent passages. This can be adjusted to taste, however it is calibrated by default in an "Off" setting. The pedals noise and quirks are at their most noticeable when in flange mode with width rate and feedback at maximum settings
- The PastFx Echoflanger is not based on the EHX Poly Chorus reissues, as the original versions were always mono + dry output.(Due to space restrictions we have omitted the DRY out.) The Poly Chorus reissues used a psuedo stereo reversed phase output.
- Our circuit is not a recreation of a DIY pcb project. We are in possession of original vintage units including Echoflanger, Poly Flange & Poly Chorus. These units do vary due to age, however they have been a key reference in the PastFx's design.
- Please note: Our Echoflanger is based on the original 1970's EHX Echoflanger circuit. This effect was also sold as the Poly Flange & Poly Chorus. It was reissued twice starting in the 1990's with a "stereo" big box version then several years later a smaller version. These versions use a different circuit compared to the vintage units.
- We have incorporated a couple of adjustable internal mods to improve on the noise issues found in the original and its adaption to the Panasonic BBDs.
- Incorporates an internal volume trim pot to rectify the famous volume drop found on many a EHX vintage pedal.
- 1590B enclosure size (the smallest recreation of the original circuit that we know of)
- Current draw 80 mA. Only high quality audio style power supplies to be used. (eg Cioks dc7 and equivilent) Aliexpress/Amazon budget supplies will cause performance issues.
- Please note: The original and the PastFx versions of the Echoflanger are not void of their quirks. Due to the limitations and complexity of the circuit the Echoflanger can exhibit chirps, lfo ticks and other sounds which may to some be interpreted as a fault. This is the nature of the beast of this circuit. We have included some adjustable mods to mitigate these behaviours. We could have changed the circuit to eliminate the quirks however the pedal would no longer be faithful to the original and would loose some of its magic.
- One of the unusual aspects of the Echoflanger is that it has access to a feedback control while in Chorus mode. Generally speaking most chorus pedals do not incorporate a feedback control. Kurt Cobain famously made use of feedback in chorus mode in Nirvana's In Utero song "Radio Friendly Unit Shifter" This is why the Echoflanger has been so sought after for those wishing to replicate these sounds.

Kurt's Cologne
In Stock!
WHAT IS IT?
The PastFx Kurt's Cologne is based upon the classic chorus circuit associated with the 90's Grunge sound.
Features of Kurt's Cologne
- True Bypass
- Uses Panasonic MN3007 BBD
- Stereo Outputs
- Mix control (Reduces the amout of modulated signal)
- Level control - controls volume on both stereo outputs.
- Internal Balance trimpot - allows stereo output volume adjustments.

FEEDBACK:
PastFx Kurt's Cologne
Incredible! Warm, lush and more settings/options than you'll ever need. Maybe I'm biased, I've been a PastFX devotee for a while now, but everything they make is fantastic. If you're looking for Nirvana tones, this can do every era, go watch the video. PastFX is not just cloning effects, these are exquisitely crafted to replicate and update some of the most beloved effects. I'd love to see a version of the Small Stone phaser with these options. Keep up the fine work!

PX-251 CONTROL PROCESSOR
PX-251 CONTROL PROCESSOR
Our take on the discontinued Moogerfooger CP-251 CONTROL PROCESSOR,
which is known for its use on the Red Hot Chili Peppers song Dani California.
Omitting the mixer and Four-way Multiple sections.
we have managed to squeeze the circuit into an extremely compact size.
Features:
- Footswitchable (able to stop the control signal output handsfree)
- 2 outputs (A & B)
- Phase pushbutton - Output A only -Pressed in is stock "in phase" mode. To match the phase of Output B (depress the phase switch)
- 4 - Way Waveform selector switch - select between the following
- Triangle, Square, External LFO & Noise
- LFO Rate and visual red lfo led
- Attenuator (Depth)
- EXP jack and Pushbutton - using an EP-3 Expression jack with TRS cable the LFO rate cn be adjusted, pressing in EXP button will allow the Attenuator to be controlled. (Operation may be affected by the Phase button when using Output A)
- LAG Processor - Two controls become activated when the Lag button is pressed, Rise and Fall. The RISE knob varies the rate at which the rising part of a waveform is slowed down, while the FALL knob varies the rate at which the descending part of a waveform is slowed down.
- S & H - (Sample and Hold) White pushbutton only activated
- Smooth - Is the second output of the original S & H which is a smoothed subtler version of the stepwise output.(Both white pushbuttons must be pressed for Smooth S & H )
- Noise - Random White Noise source
- Like the original, in order to obtain the bipolar voltages, a voltage converter circuit is used. In some circumstances noise issue may occur if being used with poor quality power supplies and other pedals with similar power sections. This is not a fault with the pedal. With high quality powering, rare issues can generally be avoided!
- DO NOT USE CHEAP SWITCHMODE POWER SUPPLIES LIKE ONESPOTS ETC!!!
- +9VDC supply. Boss Style 2.1mm Negative Tip! No longer need a special positive ground powering plug like the original!
- Compact size -
- Dimensions: 112 x 60 x 31mm / 4.4" x 2.36" x 1.22" (enclosure only)
- Current draw: TBA mA
PX-101 LOWPASS FILTER
NOW WITH NEW TRUE BYPASS MOD SWITCH!
The new internal slide switch allows either true bypass or always on preamp like the original!
Our take on the discontinued Moogerfooger MF-101 Lowpass filter,
which is known for its use on the Red Hot Chili Peppers song Dani California.
As well as including extra features,
we have managed to squeeze the circuit into an extremely compact size.
Features:
- Original or True Bypass (new internal switchable mod)
- Includes new Level control.
- Drive control - Adjusts the signal input gain
- Mix - controls the blend of both straight input signal and filtered signals. CW = Filtered.
- To achieve the "Preamp" sound without the filter simply turn the Mix FCCW
- Resonance changes the shape of the frequency response. Oscillation can occur at extreme settings.
- Care must be taken to avoid damage to hearing and equipment when using Resonance control in high settings.
- 2 / 4 Pole switch - controls the signal passing through half or all the filter. 2 Pole = Brighter sound , 4 Pole = Deeper mellow.
- Smooth / Fast switch - selects the Envelope Follower response
- Envelope Amount - controls how much the envelope signal is used to modulate the filter cutoff.
- The ENV LED provides a visual display of the envelope strength.
- Filter Cutoff - sets the frequency of which the filter opens and closes.
- Dual colour LED level indicator. The drive control adjusts the input gain with the LED providing visual feedback of how strong the input signal is.
- EXP Jack. Using an EP-3 expression pedal or similar (50K-100K Linear pot ) 4 of the following can be controlled: MIX, AMOUNT, RESONANCE, CUTOFF.
- Switch one of the corresponding internal dip switches (only one activated at once!) to select which parameter to control. The control interacts with the current knob position. Therefore if knob being controlled is set at maximum, the expression will have no effect.
- For experience users, Internally there are 2 trimpots. New sensitivity control & Frequency Cutoff.
- +9VDC supply. Boss Style 2.1mm Negative Tip! No longer need a special positive ground powering plug like the original!
- Compact size -
- Dimensions: 112 x 60 x 31mm / 4.4" x 2.36" x 1.22" (enclosure only)
- Current draw: 120mA
- More to come....
